Would you still participate in YA if there were no points?

I can't figure this point thingy out anyways ... you don't get any prizes for accumulating points, they can't be "cashed in" when you are tired of "playing" like at the casinos (and I've found it's a gamble sometimes even putting forth a question), they don't pay bills, your "badge" for being a top contributor causes others to target you for having been around long enough to get it, and in my humble opinion, "Points....who needs points? I don't need any rotten points!" hahahahaha
